Newmarket Academy Parents’ Association (NAPA)
What is a Parent Teacher Association?
A PTA is a school association run by some of the parents and teachers to discuss matters that affect the children and to organise events to raise money. A PTA represents the views of the parents who have a regular input to the running and organisation of the school. PTAs are essential in schools as they give regular opportunities for home-school communication between parents and teachers. PTAs also give parents an opportunity to make new friends and play a more active role in their local community.
Who are the Parent Association at Newmarket Academy?
Newmarket Academy Parents’ Association (NAPA) was relaunched in October 2018 and since then have achieved outstanding success with a variety of school and community projects. NAPA has been set up for one primary purpose; to allow parents/guardians to work together to provide the best possible education for their children.
Over the last few years, NAPA have invested so much into the Academy and have built quite a formidable reputation of being one of the best Parent Associations for Secondary Schools in this region. They have shown unbelievable dedication to our Academy and have been the driving force behind so much investment into various teaching departments and projects around the school. This was especially the case during the COVID lockdowns.
What is the role of the NAPA at Newmarket Academy?
- To help with fundraising projects towards the welfare of the students.
- To help vulnerable families and students at key points during the academic year.
- To assist with social events and parents’ evenings.
- To purchase new learning resources for teaching departments.
- To make a sustained contribution to the quality of school life at the Academy.

NAPA has provided the Academy and its students with a variety of new learning resources and gifts since it was established in 2018. These resources include:
