Aims & Purposes of Educational Visits
Newmarket Academy has a strong commitment to the added value of learning outside the classroom and beyond the school premises. It will seek to provide a broad & balanced range of Learning Outside the Classroom opportunities for all its students.
Each year the school will arrange a number of activities that take place off the school site and out of school hours, which support the aims of the school. The range of activities for which the Governing Body has given its approval includes:
- Out of hours Clubs (music, drama, art, science, sport, homework etc)
- School sports teams
- Regular local visits (places of worship, swimming, other local amenities)
- Day visits for particular groups
- Residential visits
- Overseas visits
- Adventurous Activities
- Duke of Edinburgh

Our Trips
Ski Trip
This trip takes place annually during February half term.
We have visited Torgon, Switzerland in 2018 and Crans Montana, Switzerland in 2019, 2020 and in February 2022.
Lexington Exchange
This trip takes place annually with students from Lexington visiting Newmarket in July and students from Newmarket visiting Lexington in October.
History Trip
Our History Department schedules trips to France in the October and February half terms.
Outlook Expedition
This is a biannual trip giving students enough time to raise the funds for the trip through fundraising.
We have previously spent 3 weeks in Southern India in the Summer of 2018 and a trip was planned to Malawi in the summer of 2020.
