"The students looked very smart, they were beautifully behaved, so enthusiastic and really nice to have in the college. A real credit to the school.  They were all really polite, engaged students with interesting ideas. It was lovely hearing all of the feedback about their projects and watching them listen to each other. Some of the projects were really advanced for the age group."

The Master said: "St Catharine's and Newmarket Academy clearly have a strong relationship and are enjoying great success working together".

Comment from University of Essex 2016

"There were a record number of 11 schools from Essex and Suffolk attending this year's induction day for the  Dora Love Prize. It's the second time that students from Newmarket Academy have taken part in the Prize, and it was great to see this year's group not only represent their school with huge enthusiasm and eagerness to learn from the eight workshops that we offered, but also building on the work done last year. We look forward to welcoming Newmarket Academy back to the University in January to see how their project has developed."

Sally Foster - Univeristy of Essex Outreach Assistant April 2016

"The Newmarket Academy Year 9 group were a great bunch to work with, they were creative, inquisitive and ready to get involved with the tasks of the day. It was a refreshing change to have a group that, were ready to push aside the nervousness that comes with being in a new environment and enthusiastically attacking the challenges that we presented to them with gusto and curiosity. Their questions were some I’ve never had before and during our Mission Possible challenge, your pupils even noticed the tricks in the game that most never see. They are a fantastic addition to your school and I look forward to working with them again."
